13 reasons why is only available on Netflix. Netflix is a streaming service that you can use after paying monthly subscriptions. each monthly subscription is around £8 a month. Netflix is extremely easy to access in comparison to other sites that are similar such as amazon prime or HULU and is good value for money. "The marketing analytics firm Jumpshot determined the first season was the second-most viewed Netflix season in the first 30 days after it premiered, garnering 48% of the viewers that the second season of Daredevil received, which was the most viewed season according to Jumpshot. The series also showed an 18% increase in week-over-week viewership from week one to week two. Jumpshot, which "analyses click-stream data from an online panel of more than 100 million consumers", looked at the viewing behaviour and activity of the company's U.S. members, factoring in the relative number of U.S. Netflix viewers who watched at least one episode of the season."

 13 reasons why was almost entirely advertised throughout the media. however not all of the advertisement was done by Netflix. 13 reasons why is a shocking, explicit and deep show which clearly will create controversy surrounding it. pages and newspapers such as the guardian posted reviews that were massively negative, but that bought more viewers. i personally got told "13 reasons why is mad" and it became its own trend which made it go almost viral. throughout every person who had the time to watch it.


Netflix did post an advert which is normal for their original shows.they will send emails to their subscribers about what's new or trending at the moment. Netflix also use youtube to advertise their shows, currently the official series trailer has 17 million views on youtube

• no stars name (no one famous acts)
• he has headphones on trying to get a clearer view of hannah and her life which he doesn't have at the moment
• if you're listening its too late, is because by the time anyone had heard the tapes she was dead
• advert for Netflix
• dark because literally nothing about the series is happy
• she isn't glamourised, she looks half alive, pale but still aware which is a key point of one of the shows "it feels like nothing"
• the play button after the title makes people want to listen because its their option to listen to more even though they can't. 
• everything is slightly mysterious(dark, blurry)
